POLISILK are a family company with a long textile tradition dating back to 1820. The textile manufacturing has continued over the last 200 years thanks to the effort and vision of 7 generations of the Ponsa family.

Among all of them we want to make a special tribute to the women that worked hard to keep the textile manufacturing through wars and recessions, some of these are Esperança Llaurado, Teresa Casajuana, Maria Muntane and Teresa Prat.

Among all of them we want to make a special tribute to the women that worked hard to keep the textile manufacturing through wars and recessions, some of these are Esperança Llaurado, Teresa Casajuana, Maria Muntane and Teresa Prat.

Today the company is lead by Marc Ponsa Prat, the 8th generation of this family.

Strengthening innovative textile
circularity in Europeʼs regions

Polisilk is a partner in the European Commission’s RegioGreenTex project to accelerate textile circularity and recycling. This initiative brings together stakeholders from across the value chain to advance regional textile recycling ecosystems.
As part of RegioGreenTex, we collaborate with other leading companies, government agencies, academics, and nonprofits to map industry needs, share technologies, support pilot projects, and ultimately enable greater circularity in the European textile
industry.
Our participation underscores our commitment to environmental responsibility and contributing to a sustainable textile future aligned with EU principles.

In the framework of the European Green Deal, RegioGreenTex is a project promoting the collaboration in research and development for the textile industry to establish a systematic circular economy business model across the EU.

OBJECTIVES

1. MAP NEEDS
Map the needs and potentiality in the implementation of a circular economy among European regions and clusters and their different levels of economic
development.
2. BUILD ECOSYSTEM
Build a dynamic recycling textile ecosystem at European level by making demand and offer meet on a shared digital platform.
3. SUPPORT SMEs
Support SMEs pilot projects to accelerate the creation, development and use of new textile materials with increased recycled content by sharing technologies
and methodologies.
4. CREATE HUBS
Create five regional textile recycling hubs in line with the ReHubs initiative and consistent with the EU textile strategy and with the needs of SMEs.
5. GENERATE INVESTMENT
RegioGreenTex ultimately aims at generating investment opportunities at regional level beyond the project.
